CULTURAL HERITAGE REGENERATION

A COMMITTED TO CYPRUS CULTURAL HERITAGE

The intent to establish the Museum was presented at a scientific event organised by Akamas Municipality, titled “The Antiquities of Cape Drepanon: Early Christian Basilicas, Baptistery and Necropolis”, which took place at Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort. Key speaker at the event was Dr Charalambos Bakirtzis, a distinguished archaeologist and Director of the Greek Archaeological Mission to Agios Georgios Pegeias.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES, THE THREE CHURCHES AND THE ROMAN TOMBS

At Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort, you're just a short ride away from two remarkable Roman archaeological sites. Hop on one of the mini-buses that will take you to the three nearby chapels—each just five minutes away—and continue your journey through history. Explore the ancient baptistery where the first Christians in Cyprus were baptized, and uncover the rock-carved tombs of the Roman elite, offering a fascinating glimpse into the burial traditions of high society from that era.
